So its still worth it despite how old it is? I mean I know they really polished up Symphonia to look pretty by today's standards, but they didn't redo the models or anything. He is also featured on polls or lists as one of the worst JRPG protagonists of all time. It's as if everyone hates this character to the point they claim that his behavior early on in the game is enough to actually alienate fans of the series. It was a real disappointment.Ok what I do notice about Dawn of the World as a universal complaint by pretty much every human being who has played the games is Emil. The last few paragraphs of this review I also agree with. I cried when I played through the sequel, hoping it would get better. Tales of Symphonia was literally my favorite RPG of all time. I believe the 2nd one was also half the length, if not even shorter than that, I believe Symphonia was like 60-100 hours, while Dawn of the New World was like.30? You only get 2 real characters, the rest of your team is beasts that you can tame, which was alright, but like said, want to use Genis from the first one? TOO BAD, NO LEVELS. The main character is wimpy on the point of annoyance at times, like usually I can enjoy wimpy, but GOD. They gutted the over world traveling, replacing it with a simple Mario stage type layout.

Honestly, the only thing better the 2nd one did was combat, and thats only because of free run, but even then it was ruined by any characters you use from the first one do not level up. Then you'll play the first one and wonder where they went wrong. If you played the 2nd one first, you'll think it's decent.
